Brown-Forman & Employees Give up to $140,000 to Haitian Relief Efforts

Company Will Match Employee Contributions

Louisville, KY, January 15, 2010 – Brown-Forman announced today that is giving the American Red Cross $100,000 to assist in relief efforts after the devastating earthquake in Haiti.

 Brown-Forman will also match employee donations to the American Red Cross up to $20,000, which means the company and its employees will contribute as much as $140,000 to the Haitian Relief efforts.

 “As with the rest of the world, the thoughts and prayers of all of Brown-Forman’s employees are with the citizens of Haiti.  Organizations such as the Red Cross are doing the hard work of helping feed and shelter millions of homeless families,” said Brown-Forman Vice Chairman James S. Welch, Jr.  “We believe it is our corporate responsibility to assist in these efforts.”
