Jim Peters is executive vice president, chief financial officer for Brown‑Forman and joined the Executive Leadership Team in 2026.

As chief financial officer, Jim leads global financial planning and analysis, shareholder relations, and all accounting and finance functions.

Jim joined Brown‑Forman following a distinguished career at Whirlpool Corporation, where he most recently served as executive vice president of enterprise transformation. Prior to that, he was executive vice president, chief financial and administrative officer, in addition to president of Whirlpool’s Asia business. During that time, Jim was responsible for the finance, legal, IT, and corporate strategy functions, as well as corporate relations and sustainability.  

Prior to joining Whirlpool in 2004, Jim was a manager of Internal Audit for Limited Brands and a consulting manager at Ernst & Young. 

Jim received his bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration at the University of Kansas and earned a Master of Business Administration in finance from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
