Benriach Distillery was founded in 1898 and although the rough-hewn walls of our warehouses may seem unassuming, they are home to a rare breed of creative expertise in whisky distilling and eclectic cask maturation. Our ingenious and dedicated team spend their days crafting our award winning Speyside single malts and tirelessly pushing the limits of flavour possibility. We are proud to say we haven’t reached them yet.
The Original Ten is three cask matured for at least ten years in bourbon barrels, sherry casks and virgin oak for a perfect introduction to our signature style and richly layered Speyside Single Malt.
The Smoky Ten is distilled using malted barley smoked with Highland peat. The spirit is three cask matured for at least ten years in bourbon barrels, virgin oak and Jamaican rum casks.
The Twelve is a rich and smooth expression of Benriach Single Malt. Matured in a sherry rich profile with the addition of bourbon and port casks, this intriguing malt has layers of baked fruit, maple honey sweetness and lingering oak spice.
The Smoky Twelve is the perfect marriage of fruit, malt, oak and rich layers of smoke. Three cask matured in an unconventional mix of bourbon, sherry and Marsala this creamy and smooth single malt is multilayered with flavours of ripened fruit, aromatic smoky sweetness and warming oak spice.
To craft Benriach The Sixteen, Benriach spirit is three cask matured for at least sixteen years in bourbon barrels, sherry and virgin oak casks. The whisky from each cask is then expertly married together to create a richly balanced malt, layered with stone fruit, creamy hazelnut and overtones of fragrant spice, with finishing notes of wild honey and candied peel.
At Twenty One Years Old, Benriach takes on an elegant character, elevated by long maturation, four cask maturation and the combination of our unpeated and peated styles.
A richly sumptuous single malt, interwoven with mellow smoke and a masterful curation of oak. After twenty five years, Benriach’s sweet Speyside smoke caramelises and is enhanced by four cask maturation in sherry, bourbon, virgin oak and madeira wine casks.
The ultimate example of Benriach’s layered flavour at its most luxurious. Four cask maturation in sherry, bourbon, virgin oak and port casks offers a deep aromatic complexity in flavour with layers of dark fruits, rich walnut and velvety oak spice. Crafted from 100% peated Benriach spirit.
Drawing upon decades of experience, our Master Blender Rachel Barrie has skilfully combined some of our rarest malt to create Benriach The Forty. Fine bourbon casks made from American oak have gradually developed exquisite notes of honeyed pomelo and ripe stone fruits. This intricate character is interwoven with dark notes of chocolate, rich plum, and smooth walnut from port casks sourced from the Douro Valley in Portugal. The result is the ultimate expression of our signature, luscious, fruit-laden style.
Annual limited edition expression handcrafted using spirit distilled exclusively from Benriach’s historic floor maltings. The malt produced during our 'Maltings Season' results in a wholesome and creamy single malt of exceptional richness of character, a tribute to our founder and the slow craft of his historic maltings, which our team of skilled craftsmen continue to this day, in the pursuit of exceptional flavour.
Smoke Season is a small batch release that captures one of Benriach’s time-honoured seasonal production techniques. This special edition uses 100% peated Benriach spirit for intense smoky flavour. Matured in American virgin oak and bourbon casks to amplify the toasted sweetness, and bring depth and intensity to our smoky sweet style.
